NEW TENNIS PLAYERS

Help get adults to play

USTA League Tennis and earn $200.

Any tennis coach, team captain, Local League Coordinator or other tennis enthusiast will be rewarded with a cash prize when adding six new players to a new or existing team. The Southern League Growth Initiative is an innovative program designed to promote play in the USTA League Adult and Senior programs. New players can be at the 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 levels.

Here is the online claim form. This is only for leagues that begin in the 2012 calendar year.

The League Growth Initiative is a program in the USTA Southern Section designed to bring players into USTA League. Anyone who brings six new players to a USTA Adult or Senior team is eligible for a $200 incentive.

Why?
New players are crucial to USTA League growth.

What programs are included?
USTA Adult and Senior programs. The first 350 new teams in the USTA Southern Section are eligible.

What constitutes a "new player?"
A new player will be identified as one that is participating in USTA League Tennis for the first time.

Who is qualified to start a team?
Anyone that starts a team would qualify for the payout. This could include a pro, a LLC, a facility manager, a captain, or just a tennis enthusiast.

Can a player be counted in two leagues?
No, a player is only eligible to be counted one time. If they are resubmitted on another form they will not count towards the six players to constitute a team.

When can I start recruiting new teams?
The first 2012 registrations begin January 1, 2012 and submissions will be accepted at that point for the 2012 league year or until the first 350 teams are claimed. Early Start Leagues will run on a 2012 calendar year cycle.

How do I submit a claim?
Fill out this form and submit to your state office for verification via fax, mail or email. After TennisLink records are referenced your state office will mail out incentives. Please note checks are mailed once per month.

Go to www.ustageorgia.com go to the bottom of the page and CLICK on the wanted poster for more information on recruiting your new team and to fill out the form.

NEW TIEBREAK PROCEDURE - ALL LEAGUES

All tie breaks (set and/or match tiebreaks) in local league matches will follow the Coman tiebreak format.

You will sides after the first point is played then after every 4 points (point totals of 1, 5, 9, 13, etc.).  Remember, you always change when the tiebreak score total is odd each time you change. Please inform all your players.

Even though you play out the full third set for the adult and senior leagues, you will use the Coman tiebreak procedure at the end of any set which reaches 6-all.

In mixed league, you play a third set match tiebreak in lieu of the third set.  The tiebreak is played following the Coman format.
