Since early days, MTA volunteers have hosted junior and adult tournament events, bringing thousands of visitors to our city and courts each year. We welcome each of you as you join the many champions who have played in Macon along the way to tennis success!

With a current membership of approximately 1500, and over 80 teams playing USTA League Tennis each season, the MTA is a thriving organization. Partnering with the City of Macon Parks & Recreation Departments, the MTA offers the beginning junior or adult player the opportunity to learn this great game, then to join team play at his/her appropriate level.

The MTA is involved in several events each year that celebrate tennis in our community, highlighting programs and benefits this wonderful sport. The MTA annual meeting is held each November, kicked off by the John Drew Smith Memorial Tournament and ending with an Award Dinner for MTA members, USTA, STA, and GTA guests, and local dignitaries.

Our Adult and Senior Leagues are underway. Also, new this year is the Flex League, which is also playing with about 60 participants. It's a good way for doubles partnerships to get match play and for singles players to get more matches. If you missed out this season, watch for the announcement of the next season.

The JDS Memorial tournament and awards banquet will be happening next month. The tournament will be November 9-15, with the banquet at Healy Point Country Club on the 15th.

Our Annual Toy Tournament, round robin, will be December 8th with two sessions- 10a.m. and 6:30p.m. Bring a $10 minimum unwrapped toy for good fun, chili and door prizes.
