The Macon Tennis Association runs USTA leagues throughout the year with over 800 players involved. To participate, players must be members of the USTA. Membership is $44 and can be obtained by calling 1-800-990-8782 or online at www.usta.com.
The MTA creates league seasons and its staff is available to assist players in finding teams and signing up for teams. Donna Bailey is the Local League Coordinator and can be reached via email or phone (478-477-1957). The MTA makes every effort to find teams for those wanting to play, although it is not always possible.
Below are the general starting dates for our leagues. Actual dates will be set once the deadline to form teams has passed.
18 & Over and 40 & Over Team Seasons
The Fall Season Team Signup starts mid-August, with play beginning mid-September. The Spring Season Team Signup begins in December with play beginning near the end of January.
Mixed Doubles
Macon's Mixed Doubles League has two seasons: Winter and Summer. Play for the Winter Season begins in January and the Summer Season begins in May. All levels play Sundays at 2:00 p.m., with additional matches on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. if necessary. For more information, please contact Mixed Doubles Coordinator Rita Benton.
55 & Over Seasons
Our 55 & Over League plays in late Spring. This league is open to men and women who are 55 or older. Days and times of play are determined after teams are formed.
